Classes that require a uniform (ages 7-18): Ballet, Jazz Dance, Contemporary & Modern Dance, Dance Fusion, Pom & Dance Team Technique
Classes without uniform: Tall & Small, Creative Dance (Mini Movers & Tiny Twirlers), Hip Hop, Homeschool Dance & PE, adult dance classes.
Footwear: Proper footwear is essential for dance classes; please refer to the handbook for guidelines if your class doesn't have a uniform. Children under 6 dance barefoot for safety and comfort.
-
The easiest place is our dancewear store: https://www.elevate-motion-studio.com/dancewear-store
Just find your class and purchase the items marked as "required".
Our handbook also lists all individual pieces if you want to purchase your uniform elsewhere.
-
No, our students have a month to acquire their uniform. Feel free to try a class before making a uniform purchase. Athletic clothes and barefoot or socks are acceptable until the uniform arrives. We do not allow street shoes on the dance floor.
-
We make some recommendations in the handbook, but there are no strict rules as long as dancers come dressed for movement.
For our Creative Dance classes (dancers between the ages of 3 and 6), we highly recommend leotards and footless tights for the girls so that they can get used to wearing dancewear.
Please note that street shoes are not permitted on the dance floor. Children 6 and under dance barefoot. Refer to the handbook for recommended footwear for all other classes.

Dancers who age out of their classes move up at the beginning of the school year. We'll automatically enroll older students in higher classes to save their spot.
We'll let you know in advance if your child is ready to move up a level.
Please let us know if the new class doesn't work for your schedule, so we can find a different spot.
If your child is moving from a combination class to a specialized class, we'll contact you to discuss dance style options.
-
Dancers must wear their dance outfit or uniform to class. Please pull hair back from the face. Bring a water bottle. Lockers are available; please bring your own lock. Street shoes are prohibited on the dance floor.
-
Unless you are taking the Tall&Small class, which requires active participation of a grown-up, you do not need to stay. However, some younger children may prefer knowing you are there while they are getting used to their new dance class.
-
We understand that you want to watch your child during class, and we’ve provided screens in the waiting room for just that purpose. This allows you to see what’s happening at all times.
We made the decision to keep parents out of the dance room carefully, based on extensive research. We’ve found that this approach creates a better learning environment for everyone. Young children can be easily distracted, and the presence of parents can sometimes make other children feel uncomfortable, especially during our creative movement sessions.
